DEPARTMENT OF BIOECOLOGY

The department of “Bioecology” was established in 2010. Today five lecturers possessing an academic degree and an academic rank and three laboratory assistants work in this department. On subjects of bioecology and biodiversity conservation, the department trains PHD students. Currently number of PHD students 20 people, and three of them are ready for thesis defense. The teaching, methodical and scientific work of the department is carried out by a qualified staff. The scientists of the department actively participate in the different local and international symposiums, conferences and meetings.

Scientific direction:
The main direction of the research work of the Department of “Bioecology” is the study of the biodiversity of Azerbaijan Republic and its conservation. Landscapes and biodiversity of various natural zones of Azerbaijan are being studied. Teachers of the department is preparing students for such topical issues as the Plant ecology, Animal ecology, Ecology of microorganisms, Human ecology, Environmental monitoring, Biodiversity and its protection, Implementation of Geographic Information Systems for assessment and inventory purpose of biological resources, etc. The students develop their skills for the independent scientific work performance under the lecturers’ leadership.
The undergraduate practice of students takes place in expeditions, on the territory of protected areas, in scientific research institutes and laboratories. A great attention is paid to the training of specialists in the field of bio-ecology and conservation of biodiversity.

Patents.

Head of the department prof. N.A. Sadigova received a patent for the invention "A way to increase sexual activity in hens of egg breeds grown in closed conditions" in 2012. No. 20090116.

Scientific relations.

The educational and scientific relations of the department are with Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Iran, Georgia and other countries.
The “Bioecology” department has collaborate with the University of Greifswald and Michael Succow foundation of Germany by mediation of GIZ- (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) since 2011. The memorandum was signed between BDU and GIZ organization in a frame of “Sustainable Management of Biodiversity in South Caucasus Program”. In the frame of this joint project had been developed curriculum “Bioecology –Biodiversity and Nature Conservation” for the master students.
As an integral part of the program CIM expert Tillman Dieterich performed  lectures and seminars on ecological theme in English and actively participated in summer field practices for the students in 2013-2015.
An expert on biodiversity and GIS technologies Jan De Leeuw and Geospatial Senior Specialist of BP (Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey) Region E.R.Bayramov provided lectures and seminars for master students “Bioecology –Biodiversity and Nature Conservation”speciality during 2016-2017.
The trainings on a topic of “Monitoring and identification of the wintering waterbirds)", “Determination and monitoring of plants and singing forest birds”, ”Monitoring of day butterflies” have been fulfilled by the local and Germany experts. The Bioecology department and GIZ organized these trainings in 2013.
The department has close scientific relations with Botany Institute, Central Botanical Garden, Microbiology Institute, Zoology Institute, Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS.

The main results of the scientific works performed in the department are presented to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the obtained important results are included in the text-books and teaching aids.

Hər il aprel 7-də keçirilən Ümumdünya Səhiyyə Günündə Ümumdünya Səhiyyə Təşkilatının yaranması qeyd olunur və həmin gün dünya ictimaiyyətinin diqqətini qlobal sağlamlıq üçün böyük əhəmiyyət kəsb edən bir mövzuya yönəltmək üçün bir imkandır.

22 Mart Dünya su Günüdür

22 Mart tarixi, 1993-ci ildə Birləşmiş Millətlər Təşkilatının Baş Kabinetində elan edildiyindən bu yana Dünya Su Günü kimi qeyd edilir. Birləşmiş Millətlər Təşkilatının (BMT) Baş Assambleyası, 1992-ci ildə Rio de Janerioda təşkil edilən BMT Ətraf və İnkişaf Konfransında dünyada suyun gedərək artan əhəmiyyətindən ötəri hər il 22 Mart gününün "Dünya Su Günü" olaraq qeyd olunmasına qərar verilmişdir.

Azərbaycan Respublikasının meşələri

Bioloji cəhətdən öz inkişafında bir-birinə qarşılıqlı təsir göstərən torpağın, suyun, ağac, kol, ot bitkilərinin, heyvanat aləminin, mikroorqanizmlərin vəhdəti hesab edilən meşə sahələri Azərbaycanın ən qiymətli milli təbii sərvəti hesab olunur.

Azərbaycanın çayları, gölləri və su anbarları

Azərbaycan ərazisinin fiziki-coğrafi şəraitinin müxtəlifliyi, relyefin və iqlimin xüsusiyyətləri, insanın fəaliyyəti hidroqrafik şəbəkənin müxtəlif inkişafını müəyyən edir. Hidroqrafik şəbəkəyə aid olan əsas su obyektləri – çaylar, göllər və su anbarları Respublikanın müxtəlif təbii vilayətlərində qeyri-bərabər paylanılıb.

Xüsusi ekoloji, tarixi, estetik və digər əhəmiyyət daşıyan təbiət komplekslərinin yerləşdiyi və təbiəti mühafizə, maarifçilik, elmi, mədəni və digər məqsədlər üçün istifadə olunan təbiəti mühafizə və elmi tədqiqat idarələri statusuna malik olan ərazilərdir.
